God Can Wait, an independent feature film

Help me bring this movie to life.

God Can Wait follows a man who chases everything he's told will make him whole: women, money, success, spirituality, sex. Each one leaves him emptier than the last, until his search takes him from atheist, to agnostic, to God. Honest, sometimes dark, sometimes funny, never preachy.

The story behind God Can Wait, from Theo Sound on

The film

I looked everywhere.

God Can Wait is a true story. Mine. Ten years of it, none of it made up.

It starts with women: dates every week, one-night stand after one-night stand. Then money, at first just to attract more women, until he's burnt out and asking what any of it is for.

Then spirituality: The Power of Now, meditation, ayahuasca, mushrooms, DMT. It heals some old wounds but gives him no direction, and leads him into his darkest fantasies and some very dark places. The film doesn't look away.

Raised an atheist, he slowly finds his way out. He reconnects with his masculine side after listening to a new wave of online influencers, hears testimonies, sees lives genuinely change, and starts reading the Bible. The search ends somewhere he never planned to look: God.

He's no saint, and he still falls. What changes is the direction he's walking in.

Why I'm making it

Who is behind this?

I'm Theo. Entrepreneur, marketer, filmmaker, Christian.

As a kid I was always behind a camera, and making a feature film has been my dream ever since. Life took a detour first: I left France at 20, lived six years in London, then Mexico, Romania and Colombia.

Along the way I built a seven-figure marketing company specialising in Facebook and Instagram advertising, with around 25 people working with me full time. It's what allows me to partly finance this film.

I found Jesus two years ago. It didn't make me a better man overnight. I still struggle and I still fail, but I know which way I'm walking now.

My two earlier short films were under three minutes each. God Can Wait is my first feature.

And honestly? I don't want to make this movie. It costs me money, time, opportunities, everything. Left to myself, I'd focus on my business. I'm doing it because I believe God is using me to spread His word.

Every bit of profit my company makes goes into this film. But a feature, and getting it seen, takes more than one person can fund. That's why I'm inviting you in.

The mission

Change the heart. Change the culture.

The mission: spread the word of God, and help build a better future for the next generation in the West.

Hollywood keeps making Avengers 12 and Spider-Man 35. Entertaining, maybe, but rarely stories people can relate to. Meanwhile, across the West, people are losing their sense of meaning, and the Christian values our countries were built on.

Politics alone won't fix that. Nations change when hearts change, and hearts change through culture: films, music, stories. Change the culture, and politics follows.

Why do I care so much? Because I believe Christianity is simply the best model there is for a society to function: for families, for communities, for how we treat each other.

And because I've seen what it has done in my own life. Faith has brought me a peace I never found in women, money or success, and the meaning I spent ten years looking for everywhere else. I just want to share that.

Most people who have never heard the Gospel won't hear it from a street preacher or walk into a church. They'll find it through an entertaining film that looks fun to watch, and that slowly brings them to the realization that Christ is King.

In marketing, there's a saying: "Sell them what they want, then give them what they need." This film works the same way. It gives the audience what they want: an entertaining story, full of captivating situations they won't be able to look away from. Then it gives them what they need: the right path. Every other path leads to destruction. The only one worth taking is Jesus.

Previous work

Before God Can Wait, I made two short films. Both are under three minutes, closer to cinematic music videos than features, but they show where I'm coming from.
